Linda & Tom Branum

Thomas A. Branum, Sr. served as Rotary International Director for 2007-2009. After several years as a Kiwanis member in Terre Haute, Indiana, the family moved Ft. Wayne, Indiana, District 6540, where he was invited to join the Anthony Wayne Rotary club in 1977. Moving to Indianapolis in 1983, he helped organize the Castleton/Indianapolis Northeast Rotary Club, District 6560, serving as Charter President. He soon served as District Club Extension Chairman, helping to form seven new clubs. Other Rotary offices include General Chairman of Zones 29/30 Kansas City Institute, and District 6560 Rotary Foundation Chairman for ten years. He organized and hosted RI President Frank Devlyn’s Heartland of America tour, served on the Avoidable Blindness Task Force, the Poverty Alleviation Task Force, as Zone Institute House of Friendship Chairman, Chairman of the Host Organization Promotion Committee for Indianapolis RI Convention, Member of RI Promotion Committee for Chicago Convention, Chairman of San Antonio Heart of America Breakfast, and Co-Chairman of Barcelona Heart of America Breakfast. Tom’s classification is insurance and financial services. He is a Chartered Financial Consultant and a Chartered Life Underwriter. Linda is a retired church newsletter editor and worked as an assistant in Tom’s office. She is talented in quilting and needle arts.

Rotary highlights include the Citation for Meritorious Service, Distinguished Service Award, Service Above Self Award, Benefactor, Bequest Society, Major Donor, and charter member of District 6560 Paul Harris Society. Tom has made two extended trips to India to help with Polio immunization and to visit Matching Grants sites. Linda, their daughter and grandson accompanied him on one trip.

Professional and civic highlights include President of Fort Wayne General Agents and Managers Association, President of Terre Haute Life Underwriters Association, President of Life Insurance Leaders Club of Indiana, Vice President of Indiana Association of Life Underwriters, President of Rosedale Community Civic Club, President of Alexander Hamilton Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, recipient of Hamilton Youth Centers Youth Service Award, member of AXA Hall of Fame, and leadership positions in several other professional, fraternal, and political bodies. He is a Certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Church.
