Was your club or district an active participant in Rotary Youth Exchange pre-COVID, but health concerns and travel restrictions have put a damper on your program? Consider engaging your youth program participants virtually. Others are organizing virtual exchanges for their Interact clubs, RYLA programs, and Youth Exchange students.
Virtual exchanges offer participants many of the same benefits as in-person exchanges, such as challenging their stereotypes, increasing their empathy, and developing their intercultural competence. Each of these can help them develop the knowledge and skills needed to become global citizens and peace builders. These exchanges are an engaging alternative to in-person exchanges, providing young people a unique opportunity to interact and collaborate with people from other cultures and communities online.
