Kentucky Tornado Relief – UPDATED!

District 6170 can now accept tax-deductible donations for hurricane relief.

At least 77 people have been killed and eighteen communities have suffered unimaginable damage from the tornado which hit District 6710 a week ago. The loss of life in many small towns, such as Dawson Springs and Mayfield, is heartbreaking, and survivors have lost their communities, their homes and livelihoods. In many areas, electricity, food, gasoline, supplies and medical services are limited or unavailable. Now more than ever is the time for each of us to live our hashtag, #RotaryResponds.

District Governor Gail Story and the leadership of District 6710 are in the process of assembling a committee to identify needs and coordinate response across affected areas. If you have a network of suppliers who are willing to donate supplies, or if you are considering sending a team of recovery volunteers, please contact Kaytlin Edwards at kedwards.rotary@gmail.com.

Everyone can help the affected communities by making a donation and encouraging your club, club members and district to donate. Donations can be sent to:

Checks can be made payable to: The 671 Foundation/Disaster Relief
