Anniversary Date Approaching

On Thursday, February 23rd, we will celebrate Rotary’s 118th anniversary. Although it would be two years before the founders began their first service project, our clubs and districts don’t have to wait to plan and implement service projects in commemoration of our founding. Many clubs had centennial projects and we can do the same this year, but maybe on a smaller scale.

Ideas for projects you can do in celebration:

  • Collect and donate 118 books to a local school or library
  • Write an OpEd for the local newspaper listing reasons for others to join us
  • Get a Mayor’s or Governor’s proclamation of Rotary week
  • Invite media to your club meeting or a district event
  • Have a speaker on Rotary’s history for your club meeting
  • Have birthday cake at your club meeting
  • Have your members share on social media what Rotary means to them
