Do You Have Unused District Designated Funds?

(A letter from our End Polio Now Chairperson, John Germ:)

For over 40 years, Rotarians have never wavered in fulfilling our commitment to the children of the world to end polio. We need your help to reach our goal of raising $50 million for PolioPlus and there has never been a more important time to donate. In order to receive the full 2:1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we must meet our goal.We ask that districts consider donating 20% or more of their District Designated Funds (DDF) to polio. If you have not used all your DDF, supporting polio eradication is an opportunity for districts to put those funds to good use. There is still World Fund match available for DDF allocations to PolioPlus.Click here to designate your district’s DDF online. Your DDF allocation helps to support polio eradication activities. During Rotary Year 2021-22, PolioPlus funds were used to purchase polio vaccine, helped get vaccine to children and helped raise awareness. Additionally, we continue to encourage each Rotary club to consider giving $1,500 or more.Rotary made a bold choice to take on the task of eradicating polio.  We must fulfil our promisewe must maintain our commitment to end polio and we can do this with every vaccine we deliver, with every community we reach, and with every dollar we give.

Together, we will end polio.Sincerely,John F. GermChair, End Polio Now: Countdown to History Committee2016-17 Rotary International President
