Last week, President-elect Gordon McInally announced a reimagined Youth Advisory Council for next Rotary year. He has invited youth program participants (Interact, RYLA, and Youth Exchange), alumni, and Rotary members to apply to serve at the international level and advise the Rotary International Board of Directors to shape the future of these programs.The council will be comprised of: three recent RYLA alumni; three recent Rotary Youth Exchange alumni; three current Interactors or Interact alumni (above the age of 13); and three Rotarian or Rotaractor mentors with experience in youth programming either as program alumni or as club/district leaders. It will be tasked to:
- provide recommendations for the most effective and sustainable structure for continued representation of youth and program participants at Rotary’s International level;
- create innovative programming that connects youth participants from all across the world; and
- further collaboration of Interactors, RYLA and Youth Exchange alumni with Rotaractors and Rotarians, advising on how to strengthen and encourage life-long connections to Rotary International.
Applications will be accepted until Sunday, April 16th. You are in the best position to know who your youth participants and alumni are, so please share the application with them as well. Applications must include a one-minute video explaining how the applicant will contribute to the goals of the Council.
