If you’ve been keeping up, you already know that for years, we’ve been down to only two countries with endemic Polio: Afghanistan; and Pakistan. The most recent numbers of declining infections in Afghanistan have been encouraging. Recent outbreaks in previously polio-free areas and detections of poliovirus in sewage across several European countries are a frightening demonstration that polio remains a threat to children everywhere.  Rotary leaders recently visited Pakistan and met with government officials, who reaffirmed their commitment to eradication.
