Keeping the Main Thing the Main Thing

What is it that matters most to Rotarians? Well, according to recent research, its their Club Experience. If that’s weak, your members will be weak. If it is missing, your members will be too. Members who are made to feel welcome and who are included are more likely to be engaged and stay active. Looking for opportunities to give them leadership experience and encouraging their personal growth are key to member retention.

Whose job is it to do this? While everyone has a role to play in making membership in your club fulfilling and enjoyable, it should be top of mind for club leaders. Using membership surveys and one-on-one interviews to find out what they want from your club, then making changes to address that feedback will create the atmosphere for engagement.
