Recognize Someone for Advancing Women in Rotary

Established in 2017 by a group of Rotarians, the Sylvia Whitlock Leadership Award honors one Rotary member (of any gender) each year who has actively worked to advance women in Rotary. It is named for the first female Rotary club president, who went on to lead change for women around the world through Rotary. The Rotary International Board of Directors decided in 2021 to make it an official RI award to support the goal of increasing the number of women in Rotary, particularly in leadership positions. There have been eight recipients to date.

Any member can nominate another member in good standing between August 1-31. What member do you know who is doing great work to advance women in Rotary? Now is the time to recognize them for their contributions. Can’t think of anyone? Ask the Rotarians in your district.
