When better to start attracting future Rotarians than when we can reach them through our youth programs? If you haven’t yet, now, early in the new Rotary year is the time to set goals for your club and district, and to promote Rotary experiences for young leaders through Interact, RYLA, Rotaract, and Rotary Youth Exchange. Need ideas to get started? Here are a few:
- Send out Invitations for students to join an Interact club, attend your next RYLA, or apply to participate in a Rotary Youth Exchange;
- Collect the contact information for each Interact Club president and circulate the list to all of them so they can interact and share ideas with each other and other students;
- Learn how to help them develop their leadership skills by taking the online course in the Learning Center;
- Publicize and help your Interact clubs set their goals and achieve their Club Excellence Award this year;
- If your Rotary and Rotaract clubs haven’t already, help them designate a contact person for Young Leader program information, events, and support;
- Get signed releases, take pictures, make videos from your RYLA and show them where your future leaders can see them.
