Disaster Aid USA has launched Phase Two of its Hurricane Melissa Jamaica response, and the needs are immediate. During Christmas week, it partnered with Uprising City Church Jamaica to deliver food packs to 150 families who are still recovering. At $40 per family, this effort ensured families had meals and dignity throughout the holiday season. Phase Two also expands its work to include roof repairs, church and community center stabilization, agricultural recovery, and longer-term housing solutions. Your financial support is urgently needed to fund food and emergency roof repairs.
In January, work will include:
- Agricultural Recovery
- Partnering with the Montego Bay Rotary Club
- Helping 40 farmers restart operations with seed and repairs following storm damage
- Distributions and setup of Sawyer Water Filtration Systems
- Planning longer-term housing solutions
- Evaluating shipping containers for transitional housing in the Black River area
- Coordinating with additional Rotary partners
