Five years ago, The Rotary Foundation created its Programs of Scale grant program to support Rotary member-led, evidence-based programs that had already demonstrated success. Its idea was that by scaling proven projects, our funding would benefit more people, promote policy development, and support sustainable programs. Each year since, our Foundation has awarded a single $2 million grant to such a project.
Since then, grants have supported malaria elimination, maternal and child health, ending cervical cancer, and water access & nutrition. The 2025 Programs of Scale grant recipient is Pathways to Peace and Prosperity in Colombia. This Rotary-led initiative will establish Positive Peace hubs in four urban and rural communities to build their capacity to resolve conflicts and address persistent inequalities, such as social exclusion, food insecurity, and poverty.
The Rotary Foundation Trustees also endorsed two finalists: Improving Maternal and Infant Care in Uganda and Mental Health Support for Youth in Florida (United States). Rotarians who lead these programs are committed to expanding them through future global grants. If your club is interested in learning more about these programs or supporting them financially, visit the Programs of Scale website or write to programsofscale@rotary.org.
