While many of our districts have long histories with Global Grants from The Rotary Foundation, others have challenges getting clubs to apply for, receive, and implement them. Some of our members still don’t understand where donations to our Foundation go, and are understandably reluctant to contribute. Others are happy to contribute, but lack information on how to bring their donations back to their own communities. Some think only foreign countries receive Global Grants.
District leaders have many tools available to them to overcome these barriers to our success, including some they may not know about. A Guide to Global Grants has a new look and improved content. If you’re encouraging clubs to apply for global grants, share this guide with them to answer many questions that they might have. And did you know that Rotary Grants staff members are available to support your district’s learning events and even provide on-site coaching? These professionals have deep experience with grants and can bring them to you to help your clubs or district develop impactful projects that align with their own communities’ priorities. (Your club or district may be asked to share in the cost of staff travel.) Contact your regional grants officer to discuss how they can support you in the service you want to do.
