The Rotary Foundation has announced the $2 million 2026 Programs of Scale grant recipient: Collaboration for Sustainable Water and Sanitation Systems in Haiti. This program will expand people’s access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene; increase demand for these services; and strengthen the governance of local water systems. It aims to improve living conditions and reduce the incidence of waterborne disease by 25% in three local government areas in Haiti.

Two other projects were designated as finalists. Home Management of Malaria in Papua New Guinea aims to reduce malaria cases among 500,000 people by training 2,100 community volunteers across more than 1,000 villages. Empowering Highland Communities in Thailand aims to transform 126 villages inhabited by highland peoples by establishing community-owned water and sanitation systems and strengthening coffee cultivation, livestock production, and traditional crafts.
