End Plastic Soup

Is your club or district looking for an easy service project for next month? Consider planning an activity for the worldwide action day to End Plastic Soup, coming up on Saturday, June 6th. This effort is led globally by our fellow Rotary and Rotaract clubs, encouraging communities to organize cleanups, raise awareness, and prevent plastic pollution.

Project ideas:

  • Host or Join a “Plog”, combining jogging with picking up litter
  • Host or join a “Prick-nic”, a park picnic with friends at which you all dedicate 30 minutes to a targeted litter pickup in the area
  • Waterway Cleanup: Organizing a kayak/canoe cleanup of a local riverside, lakeside, or waterway
  • School or Office Drive: Work with your local school board, a local school, or community businesses to eliminate single-use plastics from cafeterias or breakrooms.
  • “PlasticBingo”: Download the free app and turn your cleanup into a fun game by identifying and tracking different types of plastic waste you collect.
  • Trashure Hunt”: Organize a cleanup with a “treasure map” for kids, recycling and counting or weighing the items collected
