Happy New Year! (Now, get to work)

With a change in club, district, zone, and international leadership, July is a busy time for our clubs and districts. We all have new officers at all levels who’ve been preparing for their responsibilities for months or years. Some of you are accessing the Zones’ website for the first times. Now that you’ve assumed leadership at the club and district level, here are some ways to prepare yourself, your clubs, and your districts for the coming Rotary year:

  • Learn about, and share the annual presidential message, “Unite for Good”
  • Review actions taken by the Council on Legislation in April and share those changes with your members. Some may require you to make changes to your Bylaws. Among the changes that took effect on July 1st is a measure allowing new clubs to be chartered with as few as 15 members. Districts may no longer want to incur the expense or planning of holding annual conferences, and can opt out.
  • What used to be PETS is not the Presidents-Elect Learning Seminar (PELS) and what was the District Training Assembly has been re-named the Club Leadership Learning Seminar.
  • Download the new RotaryLearn mobile app, and encourage members to do the same. It makes the courses in the Learning Center more widely available, right on your mobile device. Download RotaryLearn from Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
  • Find new and improved features in the Service Project Center (formerly the “Rotary Showcase“), where you can get inspiration for your next project, or share the results of your most recent successes.
