With each year’s high school graduation, Interact Clubs experience a greater turnover in membership than our own Rotary clubs do. This annual transition increases the importance of having trained individuals in both the positions of school and club Interact Advisor. Many Interact clubs flounder or fail completely when the person holding the position of the school’s Interact Advisor changes. Similarly, the presence at each Interact event of an experienced Rotarian Interact Advisor is key to its success.
There’s a new course for Interact Advisers available in Rotary’s Learning Center, where your club’s Interact Advisor can assess their strengths as a youth advocate, learn how to support the club’s and school’s administration of an Interact club, and connect Interactors to Rotary’s global network through international service projects. With a good foundation in Rotary service, these students could become a future wave of dedicated Rotarians.
