March 22nd is World Water Day

Rotary has a long history of helping to provide clean water, sanitation, and improved hygiene. One of the first global grants awarded to Rotaract members is in Ghana, where they installed 80 microflush toilets, drilled two boreholes, and built 10 urinals for eight schools in the Ashanti region. Other current projects include rainwater collection and purification for Indigenous communities in Mexico (which many District in our Zone work on), sand dams for farmers in Kenya, and a water purification plant for a hospital in the Dominican Republic.
