New poliovirus cases and positive environmental isolates this week:
- Afghanistan: one WPV1 case and no WPV1-positive environmental samples. The number of WPV1 cases in 2025 is seven. There were 25 in 2024.
- Algeria: no cVDPV1 cases, no cVDPV1-positive environmental samples, no cVDPV2 cases and one cVDPV2-positive environmental sample
- Angola: one cVDPV2 case and no cVDPV2-positive environmental samples
- Lao People’s Democratic Republic: one cVDPV1 case (the first case in the country this year and is a new emergence)
- Nigeria: two cVDPV2 cases and two cVDPV2-positive environmental samples. The number of cases in 2025 is 37. There were 98 in 2024.
- Pakistan: no WPV1 cases and 32 WPV1-positive environmental samples. The number of WPV1 cases in 2025 is 29. There were 74 in 2024.
