Prepare for Vocational Service Month

Vocational Service month is coming up in January. It emphasizes perhaps the most neglected of Rotary’s five Avenues of Service (Club, Vocational, Community, International, and New Generations). Rotarians realize the importance of using professional and vocational talents to address community needs. We emphasize the need to uphold high ethical standards in our work, recognize the value of all occupations, and contribute our skills to benefit society.

To support our efforts, Rotary has the Vocational Service in Action publication, a comprehensive guide that:

  • Defines Vocational Service and explains its importance in upholding ethical standards in our professional and personal lives
  • Offers project ideas for mentoring, skills training, and ethical-business initiatives
  • Includes inspiring real-world examples of club members applying their professional expertise to serve communities
  • Shows how Vocational Service supports Rotary’s Action Plan by increasing our impact, expanding our reach, enhancing participant experience, and increasing our adaptability

Download the guide now to integrate your vocation meaningfully and ethically into service and to design activities examining the core principles of vocational service, giving classification talks, presenting vocational awards, and planning community-based projects.
