New poliovirus cases and positive environmental isolates this week:
- Afghanistan: one WPV1 case and no positive environmental samples. The number of cases in 2025 is now four. There were 25 cases in 2024.
- Angola: two cVDPV2 cases and no positive environmental samples.
- Chad: one cVDPV2 case, one cVDPV3 case, and no positive environmental samples.
- Nigeria: one cVDPV2 case and no positive environmental samples.
- Pakistan: three WPV1 cases and no WPV1-positive environmental samples. The total WPV1 cases for 2025 is 24. There were 74 in 2024.
- Papua New Guinea: one cVDPV2 case and no positive environmental samples.
