In just over a month, on October 24th, Rotary will join with our partner organizations and advocates to mark World Polio Day. You, your club, and your districts should be planning NOW to increase awareness about polio and raise funds for PolioPlus. World Polio Day is a unique opportunity to raise awareness in your local community about Rotary and our main humanitarian initiative. Whether you want to promote your event specifically or World Polio Day in general, you have access to a wide selection of graphics, videos, public relations templates, and more in the Rotary Brand Center.
Here are some quick action steps you can take to host an event or activity to make people aware that Polio is still a threat to their children:
- Use The Rotary Brand Center guide to help clubs plan successful events;
- Host a club presentation by doctors or health experts who can speak about the importance of polio eradication;
- Organize a light show in your city to project the End Polio Now logo on buildings, theaters, or other landmarks in your area;
- Set up a booth in a market, shopping mall, or public square where members wear End Polio Now shirts or hold banners;
- Organize a walk or bike ride with other clubs, districts, or local organizations;
- Establish a dinner or concert fundraiser;
- Make a club donation directly to PolioPlus;
- Partner on a social media campaign with other Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact clubs to publicize the role that Rotary plays in the fight against polio.
Help show Rotary’s continued commitment to polio eradication by registering your club’s World Polio Day event or action before October 24th.
