Who in Your Club or District Deserves Recognition?

It isn’t too soon to be thinking about those people who have gone above and beyond the call in service to Rotary. Deadlines for some of Rotary’s service awards are coming up, some as soon as October. Up to 150 Rotarians each year are recognized with R.I.’s Service Above Self Award, including many from our Zones. Those of us with Fall District Conferences should be thinking about awards for service to The Rotary Foundation. District Governors and Club Presidents can nominate Rotarians and Rotaractors for R.I.- and Club-level service awards. A member who has advanced women in Rotary are eligible to be nominated for the Sylvia Whitlock award (see related story elsewhere on The Hub). There are other recognitions available for outstanding contributions regarding the elimination of polio, service to humanity, Rotary alumni and club service.

One way to keep good members is to give them the recognition they’ve earned. Don’t miss the nomination deadlines and let that chance slip by.
