The upcoming celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States gives clubs a great opportunity to highlight Rotary’s role in strengthening civic life through out service. Either alone, or in partnership with other clubs, you can highlight your commitment to community service. Instead of “just another service project”, look at this event as a way to connect to others in your community, including potential Rotarians.
Some ideas to capitalize on this celebration:
- Talk with others in your community who share your commitment to service
- Share the impact your club and its projects have in the community and world
- Collect contact information for non-Rotarian attendees
- Invite those who seem interested to join your club at a meeting or another service project
- Publicize the project in local electronic media and social media
