On October 24th of each year, the world recognizes World Polio Day. As Rotary leaders, each of us has shown our dedication to service, which is what makes Rotary’s work possible. This year, on Thursday, October 24th, people around the world, are relying on people like us to lead the way as we keep working to fund the vaccination campaigns, public awareness initiatives, and health care infrastructure that will allow us to achieve our goal: a polio-free world.
Partnering with other supporters, we’ve helped immunize more than 3 billion children against polio in 122 countries. But we can’t afford to stop until we end the disease for good. And that will take us immunizing up to 400 million children each year. Until polio is eradicated from the world, it remains a threat to children everywhere.
If your club or district hasn’t already done so, please get involved and encourage your members to plan their events now. Three easy ways to take action are:
- Contribute to our PolioPlus Fund
- Donate DDF through your District
- Start a fundraiser on Raise for Rotary
